Watchlist
Trust starts with knowing who you’re listening to.
Every day, we encounter stories from news outlets, social media accounts, campaign groups, organisations, influencers and individuals. But how often do we stop to look at the track record of the people or organisations behind the information we consume?
Our Watchlist is designed to help you do exactly that.
We track companies, individuals, organisations and groups where there is documented evidence of repeated misinformation, misleading claims, deceptive publishing practices or the promotion of demonstrably false narratives.
An entry isn’t based simply on whether we agree with someone’s politics, opinions or point of view. We look at the evidence and provide the sources behind our findings, including examples of claims, corrections, reporting and other relevant documentation.
The Watchlist is not about censorship, banning opinions or telling you who you can trust. It is about transparency and accountability.
People and organisations can get things wrong. A single mistake does not necessarily establish a pattern. Where appropriate, we distinguish between genuine errors, disputed claims, misleading presentation and repeated or deliberate misinformation.
Our aim is to give you more information about the source, so you can make better judgements about the information itself.
Know the source. Check the evidence. Understand the record. Make up your own mind.
